The Universidad de Piura offers foreign students general training in Hispanic language and culture. Exchange with Peruvian students is encouraged through conversation groups and extracurricular activities within the E/LE Programs at the School of Arts and Sciences.


In addition, the University is a partner center of the Fundación Iberoamericana (FUNIBER) which promotes postgraduate distance studies in diverse countries of Ibero America. The Training Program for Professors of Spanish as a Foreign Language (FOPELE) offers masters degree studies, diplomas and certificates the field of foreign languages.
